橘子系列在90年代前期發展出第二種樣式,繪畫手法由簡要轉進繁複階段,主要是運用重疊、反復與對比的原則,讓單一或少數的物體呈現數量與結構變化,並具有空間延伸感。單一設色與漸層的炭精冷調虛實相襯,既凸顯主體對象也使寫實的景象透露超現實意味; 多層次的筆觸表現加上叠影,則產生物體運動與影片停格般視覺效果。

The second style of the Orange series was developed in the early 1990s, in which the painting technique shifted from simple to complex, mainly by applying the principles of overlap, repetition and contrast, allowing single or few objects to show quantitative and structural changes, and a sense of spatial extension.

The single color scheme and the gradation of cool charcoal tones contrast with reality, highlighting the subject and revealing the surreal meaning of the realistic scene; the multi-layered brushwork and superimposed shadows produce the visual effect of the movement of the object and the stop-motion of the film.
